The Women’s British Open welcomes AIG as the title sponsor to one of the biggest golf events on the sporting calendar ahead of the 43rd staging of the prestigious championship and 11th time at Woburn Golf Club from 29th July to 1st August.

In this new chapter for the Championship, AIG, a leading global insurance organisation, debut their sponsorship at one of the most significant venues in the tournament’s history – Woburn Golf Club.

Woburn Golf Club has a rich affiliation with the event and professional golf tournaments having first hosted the Women’s British Open in 1984 and, most recently in 2016, where Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn prevailed by three strokes on the critically acclaimed Marquess course.

As one of only two women Majors played outside the US, the Women’s British Open is known to be the most international with 29 different nations represented in the 2018 line-up with 19 of the world’s top 20 on the Rolex Rankings headlining the field.

Reigning Champion, England’s Georgia Hall, will be aiming to defend her title against the world’s best players including; China's first World No.1 Shanshan Feng, the youngest ever world No. 1, Lydia Ko, two-time Major winner So Yeon Ryu, American stars Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie and Jessica Korda as well as past champions Ariya Jutanugarn, IK Kim, Inbee Park, Yani Tseng and Mo Martin and UK favourites Charley Hull and Catriona Matthew amongst others.

Along with the world’s best women golfers competing at Woburn, there will be plenty on offer for spectators to enjoy off course; the Championship Village will host a number of exhibition and retail units, interactive activities and public catering facilities for the whole family to enjoy.

Tickets will go on sale in March.
